全球最佳教師獎得主 捐3000萬獎金

美國緬因州英文教師南西．艾特威爾（Nancie Atwell）於競賽脫穎而出，獲選為全球最佳教師，並贏得100萬美元（約台幣3177萬元）獎金。艾特威爾承諾將獎金悉數捐贈給她所創立的學校。

首屆的全球最佳教師獎15日在杜拜的「全球教育與技巧論壇」頒發，艾特威爾因她在閱讀與寫作教學有方獲獎。

1990年，艾特威爾在緬因州艾吉康創立「教學與學習中心」，分享與實驗改善教導閱讀與寫作的點子。這所學校的學生平均每年閱讀40本書。
