歐普拉：挫折是生命要你轉個方向

這是台灣第一本，脫口秀女王歐普拉的親筆撰述。從黑人貧戶到媒體天后、《富比世》雜誌評為最有影響力的人⋯⋯。她回看過去，回應人生大問：「一日將盡時，什麼是我確知的事？」。

關於事業
每當成長到達極限，
再也無法突破，
我就知道是時候離開了。

我絕對忘不了，下定決心要永遠選擇挺自己的那一瞬間。我還記得當時我身上穿的是什麼，我人在哪裡，當時坐的椅子的外觀及坐起來的感覺。當時，我的主管，也就是我工作的巴爾的摩電視臺總經理，正對我說：「妳在芝加哥不可能成功。妳現在踏進的是地雷區，而妳甚至看不見地雷在哪裡。妳這是讓妳的事業自絕生路。」

他用盡一切手段，想利誘我留下來｜｜更多錢、公司配車、新公寓，最後還恐嚇我：「妳一定會失敗。」

當時我不知道他說得對不對，也沒有成功的自信。但是，不知怎的，起身離開前，我鼓足勇氣對他說：「你說得對，或許我不會成功，或許我正踏進地雷區。但如果這些都沒要了我的命，至少我會持續成長。」
