（中央社武漢21日綜合外電報導）七度贏得大滿貫賽冠軍的美國網球女將大威廉絲（Venus Williams）今天踢到鐵板，在總獎金240萬美元的武漢公開賽首輪就失利，拼戰三盤不敵法國的賈西亞（Caroline Garcia）。

賈西亞先聲奪人，以6比4搶下第一盤，第二盤雖遭大威廉絲以6比4反撲追平，決勝第三盤戰到搶七後以7比6（8比6）獲勝，雙方鏖戰超過兩個半小時。

她晉級第二輪後將遭遇波蘭第五種子拉德旺絲卡（Agnieszka Radwanska）。

曾排名世界第一的白俄羅斯網球女將艾薩蘭卡（Victoria Azarenka）今天因腳傷退出武漢公開賽，並表示她將無法參加本季剩餘的賽事。

艾薩蘭卡一年來來苦於左腳傷勢，法國公開賽因而退賽，如今世界排名滑落到第25。

25歲的艾薩蘭卡說：「可惜我在本季剩餘的時間不會再參加任何比賽。這對我是非常艱苦的一年。」1030921
