傳承逾兩百年的礁溪鄉二龍村傳統龍舟競渡，因淇武蘭、洲仔尾兩個庄頭的龍舟船體已經老舊，鄉公所特別添購兩艘新龍船，18日由鄉長林錫忠與村民舉行新船試水儀式。

礁溪鄉公所指出，二龍傳統龍舟競渡，於民國九十年榮獲交通部觀光局選為全國十大民俗活動之ㄧ，是該鄉最具代表性的文化活動。

二龍競渡的比賽方式，不僅有別於其他地方的龍舟賽，就連龍舟造型也極為特殊，船身猶如大型鴨母船，船首並沒有龍頭的造型，兩側各有凸起的黑白雙眼，船身兩側則分別繪製一條栩栩如生的金龍。上庄淇武蘭的龍身以綠色為主，下庄洲仔尾則以藍色為主。淇武蘭使用綠槳，洲仔尾則持紅槳，每支槳上都繪有太極圖樣，具有避邪效用。

龍舟全長11.9公尺，船寬1.93公尺。鄉所於18日上午10時，假二龍活動中心舉辦新造龍舟試水。鄉長林錫忠親自和兩庄頭村民一起划龍舟試水，為端午節的龍舟競渡活動試划。
