不滿神木被運走　原住民向台大抗議

台灣大學實驗林管理處1年多前巡視南投對高岳營林區，發現2棵被風吹倒的紅檜巨木，台大擔心影響交通安全而搬運至溪頭生態教育園區，作為教學及研究用途，但南投明德社區原住民認為紅檜巨木在其傳統領域發現，屬於原住民資產，今天到台大抗議，要求台大歸還，未來取得資源應經過原住民同意。

台大指出，2棵巨木因倒在新中橫公路97公里處上方坡地溪溝中，若不搬走恐會滑落而影響交通安全，而紅檜屬於台灣原生珍貴樹種，推估約有千年歷史，極具教學研究價值，置於溪頭生態教育園區中，可供國內外人士瞻仰、瞭解台灣生態。

但到場抗議的原住民團體認為，目前該領地雖是台大所有，但根據《原住民基本法》，早期都是原住民領土，且台大未事先告知原住民就就運走神木，不尊重原住民，台大應該道歉、歸還檜木，未來取得資源應經原住民族同意並成立山林共管機制。
