第44屆全國技能競賽暨第43屆國際技能競賽國手選拔今年擴大在全國5個場地開戰，暨日前臺北賽事在世貿南港展覽館登場後，中南部賽事也於8/11起在台中、高雄兩地舉行，共35職類550名選手同場競技，勞動部勞動力發展署雲嘉南分署施貞仰分署長8/12親自到臺中競賽場選手及訓練師們加油打氣。

雲嘉南分署共派出97位選手參加綜合機械、飛機修護等20職類項目，施分署長一一走訪分署參賽的門窗木工、砌磚、建築舖面等職類，巡場時施貞仰不時向選手比讚表示肯定，也叮嚀每職類的訓練師一定要「照顧好孩子」。

此次賽事8/13還有一天，競賽成績預計17日公布，本次全國賽前5名選手，除可獲頒獎金與獎牌、獎狀外，並可參加甄審或保送入學，未來若入選國手，將有機會代表國家參加明年在巴西聖保羅的國際技能競賽。
